Satrangi re is a hindi word that means "The one with seven colors", but this song is about the seven shades of love as described by arabic litterature "Hob, Uns, Akidat, Ishq, Ibadat, Jonoun, Mout"...Sartangi re is one of my favourite songs and musical videos, it is a song from one of my favourite movies ever Dil se..
The first time i saw this video, i was astonished, enthralled, it's been More than four years now, and i still haven't had enough of it, everytime i watch it, is like the first time, and everytime i discover something new in it...Words can't explain how perfect this video is...actually u should watch it, feel it, live every moment of it, and try to unravel all symbols...
What is amazing abt this video is the importance given to details, every little thing matter, the color of clothes, the background, all, matches incredibly with lyrics and music, and of course the choreography is more than wonderful
Enjoy this One...It's simply, a great piece of ART...

Dil se is a fu*** awesome movie, and indeed the OST is one of A.R.Rahman best work ever, if not simply the best!!
You can't imagine how many times i listened to this OST, over and over, while pretending to study in the faculty library... I even broke my voice but singing E Ajnabi this time hehe.
Hii Xoussef..
I feel always happy when someone likes dil se and its songs, cause unfortunately, a lot of people don't understand the beauty of this movie, they r stick with typical bollywood stuff...
Actually, i hav all dil se songs on my cell, so i ofter listen to them and i can sing some of them too, but i still didn't break my voice..hehe:))
I have a fragile voice hehe
Yeah sure people are always struck with their stereotypes. I've been told so many times when revealing that i like Bolly movies and filmi music: "no way, but you're not..." yeah you have all a cloud of unspoken words: popular, vulgar, stupid, uneducated etc. They don't know what they miss because of their arrogance.
To look hip and in you better say you like Ravi Shankar, but i don't.
You didn't break your voice.. yet. hehe that will come One day :D
Ohh God...have been through the same thing...when i tell someone i'm an indian movies n music fan, they r surprised...i feel the same clouds of unspoken words...actually, people don't know a lot abt bolly or indian movies in general...in their mind indian cinema means, fighting, gangs, falling in love with someone n of course the family doesn’t accept the lover blabla..and all the stereotypes we know abt indian cinema espacially bolly...
well yes, this is true, bolly produce a lot of brainless commercial movies every year, but isn’t american, egyptian, french etc cinema doing the same?... in any cinema, u can find good and bad movies, but unfortunately people deprive themselves to discover a great tasty cinema like the indian one cause they don’t give themselves the chance to enjoy movies like dil se, yuva, choker bali, and the list is soo longg…
u know the other day, while checking what was on the air, I stopped suddenly when I heard the word “cinema indienne”, the guest was a Moroccan working in the field of cinema, I think a director, well, I don’t remember, the host asked him “”why do u think the number of theatres showing indian films has decreased?” and guess what was his answer!!!…he said, “well, personally, I believe it’s a good thing, cause Indian cinema is mainly commercial, brainless n a lot of shit like this” …honestly I was shoked, well, if an ordinary person said that, I wouldn’t have given a damn about, but when someone working in movies says such thing..Wow, that shows, his cinema culture is soo limited, which is pathetic, sure he is one of stereotype victims …
What a pityy, we can't watch bolly movies in respecteful theatres here in Morocco, i really dream to watch dil se or yuva, rang de basanti, and all great Indian films in the big screen...the only indian movie i saw in theatres was veer zaara..n it was amazing..it's really a different feeling, u feel u want to jump n dance when music starts…
Well, abt my voiceI haven’t broken it yet cause I don’t sing too loudly…hehe :D
I know perfectly the type, the pseudo-intellectuals, self proclaimed artists, full with superiority and arrogance. I've seen Black of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and i think Bunty aur Bably during Marrakech festival, but the cinema was so uncomfortable that i never came back. Aside from Veer-Zaara which had a good promo and was screened in good cinemas, i only spotted Ek Ajnabi. Moroccans really don't realize the commercial potential of Bolly movies. Too bad!
wow..u saw Black..i envy u:))...actually i'm dying to see sawaariya, the latest of sanjay leela bansali, but how????
If only i was living in india or UK!!;))...
I agree..too bad Moroccans can't realize the potential of bolly...Hope the do oneday so that we can enjoy all these good movies ...till then, will keep watching them on DVD n youtube:)
It was amputated of some parts though, i think, to make it less longer. A wonderful movie, very different than Devdas, but that baroque style of Bhansali is always the same. Rani Mukherjee was good, but the acting of the little girl was simply awesome.
Saawariya's OST is quite good, by the way. I long too to watch that movie.
